My father - John Halen - WWII RCAF navigator Remembrance Day has special meaning for me and seems to be a day that Supportive Learning students can identify with as well. They seem to understand and respect the pain and loss that everyone goes through during a war. This year we learned about the significance of the poppy and why November 11th was chosen. Students created drawings, wrote a poem or personal essay and created a movie with our teacher-librarian, Mr. Wong. The movie was shown as part of our Remembrance Day service.
